Intro to Bali CMG project

Welcome:  This is the blog for my first project taking a community totally off-grid with 100% local renewable energy - a community microgrid (CMG).  I thought for sure, my first project of this kind would in Germany, Austria, or Denmark or within that network, but it appears that will happen a bit later. 

So when this opportunity came up in Bali, I could not resist.  So stay tuned, and come back and visit to read about the wonderful realizations, learnings, design compromises and realities of working within local, renewable energy sources.  A sort of energy permaculture.  This journey will be the first of MANY more CMG's to come.

The path that led to my involvement with this project is the culmination of 3+ years of passionate stubbornness:  of networking in the Bay Area and beyond...of linking one contact to another, putting one foot in front of the other, and remaining true and passionate to a vision.... and refusing to work on projects that have any inkling of mainstream grid connections.  And of one friend that fowarded an email to me - thanks Tara!
